I think I did pretty well on the task as a whole. As I have never used an Apple Mac before, and only used Photoshop a handful of times, I feel that I have done the best I could have in the time I was given.


The designing of the front cover of the magazine took about thirty minutes; it took me a few sheets of A4 until I had come up with the idea of what I was going to do for my front cover. A couple of my designs are below:



My magazine has stuck to the conventions of magazine font covers, as it has:

  • A Masthead, with the title of the magazine (The Victorian)
  • A Dateline, with the date of the magazine issue (2009-2010)
  • A slogan at the bottom of the front cover
  • A photograph relating to the college

My front cover also contains a student in medium close up, which was a specification that I needed to follow when doing the task.
